The Central New York region offers landscape photographers a wealth of opportunities for creative exploration on par with any area of the state. It is a region known for tranquil lakes and ponds, picturesque waterfalls and streams, and beautiful forests. As a native of Syracuse and after having lived there for 13 years as a photographer, it is home to many of my favorite and most cherished photographs. While beautiful throughout the year, I came to regard spring as the most special. Join me as we explore Green LakesState Park, Labrador Hollow, and Chittenango Falls State Park, among others.

My Creative Vision workshop series is for serious-minded photographers striving for greater creativity and artistic growth. My goal is to help you find your path in photography and make creative, self-expressive photographs that reflect your unique vision and response to the world around you and don’t rely solely on the inherent objective qualities of the subject. My workshops are an immersive experience that encourages artistic development through philosophies, photographic fieldwork, and classroom instruction.

Field lessons will include tips and techniques on:

●     nurturing your creativity

●     seeing beyond conventional composition templates and fine tuning compositions

●     learning to see in black-and-white

●     using visual elements for effective communication

●     working with your range of lenses, from wide angle to telephoto

Chris will also give indoor instructional sessions on:

●     Expressing Your Vision

●     Black and White Artistry

●     Visual Design and Effective Compositions

●     optimizing images in Lightroom and Photoshop

●     converting images to black-and-white

I will help take your images to a new level. Our low instructor to participant ratio guarantees everyone significant one-on-one instruction in the field, and the beautiful settings will give each plenty of inspiration to explore their photographic vision.
